KEENE, N.D. (AP) — Authorities say a lightning strike at a saltwater disposal facility in western North Dakota caused an explosion and a fire but did not cause any injuries.

McKenzie County Emergency Manager Jerry Samuelson tells The Forum (http://bit.ly/165XOZH ) that lightning struck a tank owned by Murex Petroleum about 8 a.m. Friday.

Samuelson says the tank exploded and caused three other tanks to catch fire. The tanks contained water that comes to the surface with oil and gas.

Samuelson says firefighters waited two hours for the flames to subside before extinguishing the blaze.
