WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) — Williams County won't be getting a new city.
The Williston Herald reports that the Williams County Commission voted unanimously Tuesday to deny a petition to create an incorporated city called Bakken Village. Commission Chairman Dan Kalil says backers of the proposed city north of Williston withdrew the request last week but the council still had to vote on it.
Backers of the idea had said that the new incorporated community would help solve a housing crunch in the area and provide other services.
