Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-- People out walking or biking around Fargo are running into road blocks when trying to cross I-94.
The North Dakota DOT's interstate construction project has closed down the pedestrian walking bridge. Which, allows people to pass overtop of I-94.
The city also has a construction project around the entrance to the Lincoln tunnel, the spot where people usually pass underneath of the road.
The tunnel is still accessible by the east sidewalks. If people follow the detour signs.
The DOT has also put up detour signs for walkers and bikers hoping to use the bridge. Directing them to an alternate route using 25th street.
Kevin Gorder- ND DOT: "There's great separation for the pedestrians and cyclists, so you can get under the ramps without having to deal with traffic if you want to follow the detour all the way around. It does seem a little safer than going to University. Either way works. "
The detours will be in place until construction projects are finished.
