Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - The finish line was a busy place today at Hamline University where champions were once again crowned at the Minnesota State Track and Field meet.

Despite near ideal conditions there wasn't a single individual event winner amongst area athletes on day two of the Minnesota State Track and Field Meet. However, the top individual performance among Class A girls was easy. After winning the long and high jump yesterday, Warroad's Deidre Hahn finished second in the 200 and third in the 100 today to single handedly help Warroad tie for the Class A team title with 42 points.

Deidre Hahn, Warroad Sr.: “It's definitely been the best two days of my career. I was just hoping to medal in everything and if that meant a ninth place or an eight place I was going to be ok with that, so a second, third and two firsts is better than what I expected.”

In Class A Boys, Perham won the 4 x 800 and Keegan Hurley had his second top three finish of the weekend taking third in the 1600. Perham tied for second as a team with 40 points. Michael Whitney from Breckenridge C-T tried to repeat as 100 and 200 meter champ but only managed fourth place finishes in both races.

Michael Whitney, Breckenridge C-T Sr.: “Number one finish would have been what I wanted but top five, that was my goal to at least make top five and that happened in everything. In our 4 by 100 we ended up third there and that was just great.”

In Double A, defending 300 meter hurdle champ Maleah Biermaier from Thief River Falls finished second this year, 18 hundredths of a second behind Rosemount's Rachel Skow. And the Moorhead team of Selberg, Kelly, Johnson and anchor Taylor Janson set a school record of 9:16.60 in finishing third in the 4 by 800.
