Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - A floodway on 2nd Street in Downtown Fargo is feasible but costly.

The proposed floodwall would spare the city from building a levee on 2nd street every time the river reaches 30 feet.

The study says the project would cost $40 million with a tunnel running from 1st to 4th Avenue, $24 million without the tunnel.

The floodwall would protect to a river level of 45 feet. The study is ongoing and the full report won't be due until later this month.
