Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - The City of Fargo is forming a new task force to tackle parking problems downtown.
The force is made up of parking commission and downtown community business representatives.
One of the first issues they will look at will be changing the timed parking zones from 90 minutes to two hours, hoping to better utilize street spaces.
Store owners downtown seem to welcome to longer limit idea, saying 90 minutes can get rushed for shoppers and don't think this will greatly impact the already limited number of spaces available.
They hope to maximize business while keeping the downtown area thriving.
Cari Luchau, C. Lizzy’s Co-Owner: “I love that we have a parking problem downtown because that just shows the growth that we've had downtown and that people both in our region and outside of our region are coming downtown to shop and enjoy all the restaurants and also all the events.”
Still no word on if or when these time-limit changes could be made.
