Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-- Rain is once wreaking havoc in the Lake Region, but now, it's the cold and the wind that are causing the most damage.
The Devils Lake USDA office says about 35% of crops in Ramsey County have been planted.
The rain keeps farmers out of the field, and the USDA says cold, overcast days prevent farmland from drying enough to get planting, before more rain hits.
Out on the lake, high winds have kept boats docked.
Fishing guide Jeff Katzer says he's had to cancel several guided fishing trips this year.
He says you can fish in the rain, but the wind poses more of a threat.
Jeff Katzer- Fishing Guide: "It's pretty hard to get away from rough conditions for some reason. There is shoreline to fish and you can get a crossed it, but where all the boat launches are, it seems like you gotta get through some really rough water to get there."
The region isn't getting any relief from the rain. The National Weather Service says heavy rains are all but guaranteed throughout the night tonight.
