Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-- It was a long weekend for many on Grafton who have weeks or months of work ahead of them to repair flooded basements.

Heavy rains on top of saturated grounds, and overloaded city lift stations had water pouring into dozens of home there.

Piles of carpet and furniture line streets. Sump-pumps failed or just couldn't keep up. There was some sewer back up or the water just seeped through wall.

Brent Nelson- Walsh County Emergency Manager: "And the compound of the river being high, the storm drains being full becuase of the high river, torrential rain, we have a lot of individuals with basement water problems, lift stations are wrking hard to try and keep up."

The city of Grafton is still asking homeowners to

restrict water use, because more rain is expected tonight into tomorrow.
