Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-- Construction crews are busy working on N-P Avenue and Broadway in Fargo. And Main Avenue in Moorhead.

Those projects began today, and some businesses say it's even harder to find a place to park with the road closures.

Will it effect business?

Kevin Ingeman- JL Beers: "Right now, ugh, it's not too fun."

It's a slew of construction workers mixed in with umpteen orange cones and signs.

Ingeman: "I don't really like not being able to park where I usually am and everything and there is a lot more traffic and kind of just people in the way right now."

Kevin Ingeman manages JL Beers, one of Fargo's popular downtown eateries.

With major construction on NP Avenue and Broadway just beginning business is still usual, but he worries that will change in the days ahead.

Ingeman: "People may discouraged from stopping here, because I don't know where to park."

If you travel by foot - the sea of construction may be more manageable, or at least that's what Smiling Moose Deli's manager is hoping.

Ryan Cameron- Smiling Moose Deli: "We get a lot more foot traffic in the downtown area."

Even if you aren't looking for a quick bite on your lunch break...

Cameron: "We've got a pretty strong name, so people still come. We're pretty confident in it."

Just across the river work is also taking place.

For businesses up and down Main Avenue it's déjà vu. Another year later and once again there orange cones.

Mandy Peterson- Ace Hardware: "We were really hoping everything was going to be done last year."

For the second season in a row roads are closed as crews - repair an aging water main and repave the road.

Peterson: "It's not having to much effect on our business."

ACE Hardware is staying positive.

Peterson: "We have a lot of regular customers that know us and help support our business."

Construction will wrap up this fall in Fargo and Moorhead.
