LAKE HALLIE, Wis. (AP) — A man who rescued a toddler from a submerged van in the Chippewa River says he's looking forward to meeting the child and shaking his hand.

Jesse Morley was working at the Lake Hallie Sportsman's Club Saturday when he saw the van sinking in the river. It had rolled into the water as a family was removing their boat from the river. An uncle helped Siren Buchli from the van, but Siren's 3-year-old brother Logan was still inside.

Morley kicked off his shoes, pulled off his shirt and jumped into the water. He tells WEAU-TV he and other bystanders used a rock to smash the back window. He dove into the van, located Logan and brought him to shore. Bystanders began CPR.

Logan's family says he's in a medically-induced coma at a hospital Rochester, Minn.
