FARGO, N.D. (AP) — A Fargo woman is accused of beating her boyfriend unconscious with a boot after he and his friends disturbed her sleep.

The Forum reports (http://bit.ly/13bCK3j ) that 36-year-old Bonnie Kay Hanson pleaded not guilty Thursday to aggravated assault and preventing arrest.

Court records say Hanson called police on April 21 to say that her boyfriend had broken into her home and put a knife to her neck. Court documents say Hanson later changed her story and told police she had yelled her boyfriend for making noise with his friends while she was trying to sleep.

Court records say she grabbed a boot from her boyfriend and hit him in the head several times, knocking him unconscious.

Her next court appearance is set for July 24.
