Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - North Dakota is off to a record-breaking road construction season.
Nearly $880 million dollars will be spent, the highest amount in state history. It's the result of the state's economic growth and transportation demands.
The biggest projects in our area will be resurfacing work on I-29 near Fargo, Grand Forks and Grafton. The I-94 pedestrian bridge will be repainted and modified.
With all the work going on, drivers are urged to slow down and pay attention.
Grant Levi, NDDOT Director: “Last year we had 250 crashes occur in work zones and there were two fatalities. Any fatality is too many fatalities as you travel.”
Our long winter and wet spring has delayed some projects.
