Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - It's a scene from the 1930's. A farmer just North of Fargo is taking a step back in time.

Garfield Hoglund ditched his shiny tractors and went old school. He's using four Clydesdale horses to seed his field of alfalfa. Hoglund says he's been doing it this way for years.

The horses can seed about 20 acres a day, if they're in good shape. An average tractor and seeder can do about 200 acres a day.

Garfield Hoglund, Farmer: “It's kind of a special treat, I tell everybody I got the best of both worlds, If I get behind the horse or I can go with a tractor and do it.”

Hoglund says he will use the horses to plant his pumpkins soon.
