Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Fargo police are taking to the streets trying to make sure our community's school zones are safe.

Police officers and department staff are out patrolling today and tomorrow as part of Blue Days. As well as stepping up traffic enforcement, officers are visiting with students after school, teaching them about school zone safety.

Their goal, to raise awareness and remind drivers to slow down and watch out for children.

Sgt. Ryan Dorrheim, Fargo Police: “Hey, kids are starting to hit the streets and hit the sidewalks now, but also it's a chance for our officers and command staff to intermix with students, staff, and parents alike as well.”

Police will also be out tomorrow, hitting most of our city's school zones.
