(WDAY TV) -- Amy Anderson has excelled on the national stage during her brief golf career; from her 2009 US Junior Amateur title; to leading the US Open after the 1st day, now she's set to embark on the next step of her career as pro golfer and that begins Wednesday in Colorado at a US Open qualifier.

Anderson: "It does feel a little bit different; preparation is the same trying to work the winter rust off; different mindset; and I'm trying to make sure it's not a different mindset I think that's one of my goals get a lot more questions even practicing typical questions of someone that's turning pro and I don't have a lot figured out; that just adds to it you think about it a lot more."

The next 6 months; tell me you have figured out and what you want to

do?

Anderson: "The main thing is Q-School this fall 1st stage in California; last two stages in Florida providing you advance and I just want to set myself up that I'm peaking at my game leave my summer open so I can be flexible."

The US Open was such a magical 5 days for you in 2011 have you let

yourself dream this would be really fun 1st pro event and back at the US Open?

Anderson: "You always have goals and I took a lot of positives

playing US Open 2 years ago, I love to go back but it's something try

not to think about too much...I always think qualifying is more nerve wracking than the real thing and you have mindset you have to be 1 or 2 and let that take your focus rather than playing well always something

focus on my game doing the process right and not worry about the result."

Anderson will play 36 holes Wednesday at the Broadmoor; she needs to be in the top 2 to advance to the Open.
