DALTON, Minn. (AP) — A western Minnesota woman is hospitalized after authorities say she was attacked in her home over the weekend. The man suspected in the attack also is hospitalized.

Otter Tail County authorities say 68-year-old Barbara Howard of rural Dalton suffered a head injury. She was taken to a Fargo, N.D., hospital. KFGO-AM reports her family has asked that her condition not be released.

A 46-year-old man is in a Fergus Falls hospital with an apparent self-inflicted neck wound. The sheriff's office says the man is facing an assault charge, but a charge of attempted murder is possible.

Authorities are not saying what weapon was used in the attack. Dalton rescue and Ashby ambulance were called to the home on Saturday night.
