Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Fewer people are expected to travel this holiday weekend, partially due to high gas prices.

Triple-A reports about 31 million Americans will hit the road, but travelers in our area got a bit of a break. Prices are down from last week's record highs.

As Ryan Weum filled a couple of jet skiis, he pointed out that it still adds up when filling more than one tank.

Ryan Weum, Detroit Lakes: "It affects everybody the same way, especially when you're filling boats and things like that. They take a lot of gas. You have a lot of these bigger boats that hold 50, 60, 70 gallons and $4 a gallon is a lot different than $3."

The price for unleaded in the DL area was $4.09 today.
