Lewis and Clark students showing every penny counts towards Oklahoma rebuilding

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Students from Lewis and Clark elementary are proving every penny counts.

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Students from Lewis and Clark elementary are proving every penny counts.

Students and staff are collecting pennies to help people affected by the devastating tornado in Moore, Oklahoma. Just today about $300 has been collected and 156 people donated.

At the end of the drive, all change will be added up and donated to the Red Cross.

Madelyn Esterby, 4th Grade: “It makes me feel good because then you can help other people, and if it happened to you, you would want other people to help you too.

Audrey Jones, 4th Grade: “It's fun seeing a lot of people coming with the money because sometimes the bags are really full.”

Money will also be collected Tuesday and Wednesday.
