Part of Minnesota park where landslide killed 2 closed

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman says an area of a park where two children were killed in a gravel slide is now indefinitely closed.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman says an area of a park where two children were killed in a gravel slide is now indefinitely closed.

Coleman also says no permits will be issued for fossil hunting in Lilydale Regional Park.

Fourth-graders from two elementary schools were on a fossil-hunting field trip in the park Wednesday when a rockslide killed two children and injured two others.

Coleman said at a news conference Thursday that "our hearts, our minds, our prayers and our thoughts go out to the families" of the victims.

The mayor calls it "a tragic day for St. Paul."
