Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Paramedics and EMT's have a new tool to help prevent on the job injuries.
F-M Ambulance just got its first "power-lift" cot. The electric and hydraulic cot not only helps in lifting the patient, but helps the paramedics load the patient into the ambulance. The new Stryker cots cost about $25,000.
Because of an improved locking system, the cots make it a safer ride for the patient.
Wade Hockert, F-M Ambulance: “Beyond the comfort of the patient and safety for medics using it you are benefiting potential impact, keeping patient on the cot and safe.”
F-M Ambulance will get a second ambulance equipped with the new cot, in June.
