Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-- They've been on the rise for the past two seasons and
as tournament season opens on Thursday the Davies girls soccer team is ready to take off.
The Eagles ended Shanley's 42 game unbeaten streak earlier this season
and finished the regular year unbeaten.
They enter the EDC Tournament as the number one seed and have dominated teams this season outscoring them 35-3. And are gaining confidence from each win.
Nick Christianson- Davies Head Coach: "That's something we've been trying to be for a long time. We knew we had a great team coming into this year. That was one of our goals, to try and be that number one seed for state,
this is just another way to get there, trying to win this EDC tournament and be there in the end."
Paige Mccullough- Davies Sr. Forward: "Last year, we've always had that one loss. There is pressure, but it's always nice to already be that one step ahead. It's kind of a lot of motivation coming into it."
Emily Wendorff- Davies Sr. Forward: "Especially, with this short season we've sort of gone with you have to win every game because every game matters. And in a tournament every game matters because you know, if you lose you're out."
