Crystal, ND (WDAY TV) -- The mayor of Crystal, North Dakota is asking all residents there to refrain from using unnecessary water.

The lift station can not keep up because of flooding. The mayor says the flooding could be worse than in 2004. The National Weather Service says Grand Forks, Bismarck, Dickinson, Jamestown, and Minot all set rainfall records on Sunday, with an inch or more.

A record 1.37 inches was recorded at the weather service office in Grand Forks, breaking the old record of 0.80, set in 1950.
