Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-- Fargo-Moorhead is filled with the aroma of Scandinavian delicacies. As part of Syttende Mai, Norway's Constitution Day churches and organizations cooked up the old favorites.

First Lutheran offered up open faced sandwiches with cheese and cucumbers, lefse, krumkakka, rosettes, and rommegrot, while the Sons of Norway accordion band played.

In Moorhead, an entire neighborhood showed support for the old country by flying the Norwegian flag.

At the Hjemkomst, they waved in those who came for a lefse wrapped hot dog.

Lisa Vedaa- Celebrating Syttende Mai- "It is amazing people have held on to their norwegian and scandinavia heritage and holding on to celebrate tradition."

Bethany Retirement Living also hosted Syttende Mai events and Sons of Norway is having a celebration at this hour downtown.
