Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - It seems like we're all looking for ways to cut the clutter, at home and in the office.
One easy place to start you may not expect, your rolodex, because there's an app for that.
In our fast-paced, technology driven world you need instant information and it's all about being connected, so this may seem a bit outdated.
Thanks to the CamCard business card reader app, you can ditch the piles of cards for this.
The app lets you scan your entire business card collection and keep them all in one directory, all on your smartphone.
While the CamCard app has a lot of features, it's simple to use.
From the app's home screen, you take a picture of the card. You want to make sure the picture is clear so the app can read the information.
Within seconds, it then imports everything from the card into your contacts; the name, address, websites, and still keeps the picture so you can always go back to the card.
One drawback, if a business card is more elaborate or complicated it doesn't always work perfectly. Some of the information gets garbled but you can go back and edit it.
The app also lets you sync across all of your devices or sort them into groups, if you have different business contacts.
Once you go into those contacts you can call, email, find them on a map or a website, all directly from the app.
You can also create a business card and contact for yourself in CamCard and share that through text or email, setting yourself apart and making a hi-tech impression.
CamCard is available in both the Apple and Google Play Markets. There are free versions but that limits the number of cards you can capture. The paid versions are $2.99 for our region.
