Breckenridge, MN (WDAY TV) - Families looking to buy a home in Breckenridge are coming away empty handed, unable to find a place to live.
The housing market in Breckenridge is at an all-time high, but the number of homes available has hit a 20 year low.
As of today, there are only eight listings for homes on the market. When you add that with Wahpeton, the Twin Towns together have less than 30, down from about 80 two years ago.
The slump is especially hitting homes in the middle range of $100,000 to $200,000.
Guy Millerm Miller Realty: “We do have our hospital, nursing home, grade schools here, and we are part of the twin towns with Wahpeton. With the college, airport, golf courses, we do have other reasons to move here that's for sure.”
Breckenridge city officials say they plan to send out letters to contractors after the next Port Authority meeting.
