Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - They were the double play combo for the F-M RedHawks for the past five seasons. They were known throughout both the Northern League and the American Association, but that changes this season.

Zach Penprase returns to play shortstop for the Hawks but Carlo Cota does not meaning Doug Simunic needed to find a replacement and he's turned to Jose Garcia who spent time in the Cardinals organization, made it all the way to Triple A and now will partner with Penprase for a new combo up the middle.

Zach Penprase, RedHawks Shortstop: “Everyone loved Cota he did a great job probably the best guys in the whole league ever it's going to be hard to replace that.”

Jose Garcia, RedHawks 2nd Baseman: “(Speaking Spanish).”

Doug Simunic, RedHawks Manager: “What he said here he's excited about playing in Fargo second base is his natural position he knows how to be a good teammate and to be a good player.”

I'm fairly certain that's not what Simunic said, not sure we can add translator to his title. Hawks open the season tomorrow in Laredo. Joe Cruz will make the start against the Lemurs.
