Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-- The season begins for the F-M RedHawks in two days and there's one pitcher who can't wait to get back on the mound.

Former North and NDSU standout Jake Laber is back for his 5th season with the Hawks; eager to forget 2012.

Which is ironic considering the team won 65 games; but Laber went just 7-7 last year with an ERA over 5; striking out the same amount of hitters he walked.

Jake Laber- 5th Season With The RedHawks: "I'm excited to get back out there last year having the year I had wasn't quite what I was looking for just from personal standpoint looking to bounce back from statistical standpoint hard to point out one thing definitely mental aspect; trying to throw harder; threw some weighted balls in the offseason and my arm is feeling really good right now."

The Hawks play their final exhibition tonight against Grand Prairie before opening the regular season against Laredo on Thursday.
