BARNESVILLE, Minn. – Sheriff deputies responded to an incident here this morning involving a vehicle submerged in water.
The Wilkin County Sheriff’s Office received a call around 7:30 a.m. from the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, stating that deputies had Daniel Lyman of rural Barnesville in custody, according to a Wilkin County Sheriff news release.
The release said Lyman was connected to the vehicle in the water, but it did not provide details.
The incident happened near Barnesville at 100th Street and 310th Avenue.
According to the news release, Lyman told authorities there was possibly another person involved that could not be located, and was potentially in the submerged vehicle.
Valley Rescue and Dive Team members responded to the scene, but before they began their dive, the individual Lyman claimed may have been in the vehicle was located, and it was determined the person was not involved in the incident.
Lyman was cited for traffic violations and an outstanding warrant, according to the release.
