Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) -- Soon, all day kindergarten could become reality for Moorhead schools.

Tonight, the school board discussed the Minnesota's proposal of state-funding education at the kindergarten level. If passed, any district that wants to offer it will have the cost fully reimbursed.

That's different than the current system where some districts charge a fee to parents for more than half-day kindergarten.

Wayne Kazmierczak, Moorhead's Asst. Superintendent, says, "We believe all day kindergarten, in alignment with that, and in alignment with quality primary grade instruction can get kids off to a great start."

Moorhead schools is looking into starting it as soon as this fall.
