(WDAY TV) -- The Minnesota Wild have some big time questions to answer if they want to take the next step and still be playing hockey this time next year.

They addressed some big needs by signing Zach Parise and Ryan Suter and trading for Jason Pominville; but also need to decide if they're going to pay

starting goalie Nik Backstrom or will they go to try to get a bona fide goal scorer??

Chuck Fletcher, Wild General Manager, says, "When I sit here today and think about where our team is compared to a year ago today dramatic difference;

four cornerstone pieces to our franchise Koivu Parise Suter and Pominville, last year talking about all the kids coming and now those kids are pretty

good players in the NHL...We're not going to sit around and new players to make us better we have to have same mentality as players have we have

to keep building on some of the things we've done."
