BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Members of this year's graduating classes at North Dakota's two largest universities are entering the working world.

Both the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks and North Dakota State University in Fargo scheduled their spring commencement exercises on Saturday.

About 1,550 undergraduates and graduates were eligible for a diploma at UND. At NDSU, the number was about 2,200.

Lt. Gov. Drew Wrigley was tapped to give the keynote speech at the UND commencement.

NDSU was celebrating 50 years of conferring doctoral degrees, and invited the only living graduate from its first class of doctoral students.
