Amor, MN (WDAY TV) -- We now know more about the 2 young boys who were trampled by buffalo today in Otter Tail County. The owner of the buffalo says the 3 year old boys wandered onto his property from the neighboring home.

We were able to talk to the owner of the buffalo briefly tonight,

he was visibly frustrated and upset, and would not go on camera. This happened just west of Amor, Minnesota around 10:15 this morning.

The pasture that holds the small herd of buffalo is sandwiched between the owner's home, and the home where the young victims live. The shaded area on your screen is where the buffalo are at. The owner says he goes to great lengths to keep people from getting in this area, he has a six foot fence he says could hold back a car. And he said the mother of the boys was sleeping, when they wandered onto his property, slithering through this fence.

Now we noticed there were calves in that pasture, and when we were closer to the herd and got out of our vehicle the buffalo were acting protective and jumpy.

The victim's names are not being released, again they're both 3 years old.

Both in stable condition. One was brought by AirMed to Sanford Health in Fargo.

The buffalo owner just shook his head tonight and said this is a terrible day.
