(WDAY TV) -- The Bison softball team barely escaped the first round of the Summit League tournament yesterday with a win over Kansas City; the challenge was guaranteed to be more difficult today; facing IPFW in the winner's bracket.

With a date in the championship game going to the winner of this matchup.

Mastondon's take it 2-0, the Bison now have to battle back in the consolation bracket.

Darren Mueller, NDSU Head Coach, says, "We just got to forget about it, our backs are against the wall now. We really have nothing else to lose, if we lose we are done. Just kind of talked about that a little bit and we just have to put it all out there. We had good energy, we had a lot of things, but with a young team they have to kind of understand what's at stake a little bit. Some of our young kids are just trying to do so much that they are not just playing free and playing loose."

NDSU's season now is on the line tonight; they'll face Kansas City again; they must win; we'll have highlights at 10:20.
