Walsh County Prosecutor seeks probe of school districts

ADAMS, N.D. (AP) — Walsh County is asking the North Dakota attorney general's office to investigate allegations that the Adams School District has spent money illegally prior to a pending school reorganization.

ADAMS, N.D. (AP) — Walsh County is asking the North Dakota attorney general's office to investigate allegations that the Adams School District has spent money illegally prior to a pending school reorganization.

The Adams and Park River school districts are combining to form a new district. Walsh County State's Attorney Barbara Whelan says in a letter to Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem that some unhappy Adams School Board members apparently are trying to deplete the cash reserves and physical assets of the Adams district.

Whelan says it appears the plan is to ensure the Adams district contributes nothing to the new district.

Adams Superintendent Frank Schill declined comment to the Grand Forks Herald because he said he had not seen documents related to the case.
