Oklahoma company touts natural gas processing projects in North Dakota

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — An energy company is holding a grand opening ceremony Wednesday at new natural gas processing facilities in Williston, in northwest North Dakota.

Oneok Inc. is Tulsa, Okla., is the biggest operator of natural gas pipelines and processing plants in the Williston Basin, which includes the Dakotas and Montana.

The company says it also is highlighting two new natural gas pipeline projects that total about 870 miles of pipe.

North Dakota's natural gas production has been rising along with the state's oil output. About one-third of the natural gas that's produced now is burned off, because of the lack of pipelines and factories needed to process the fuel.

Gov. Jack Dalrymple is slated to attend the grand opening in Williston on Wednesday.
