Clean up week is well underway in the Metro

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- Clean up week is officially underway.

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- Clean up week is officially underway.

With clean up week back on schedule, homes will be clear from clutter and junk, but having a home that's ready for Spring means more long hours for city workers.

Equipment Operator Kelly Erdmann with the City of Fargo has been working non stop for about 3 weeks. Working 12 hour days with flood protection and now 10 hour days with clean up week, you can say he's ready for a vacation. But even with the long hours, tossing, hauling, and trashing piles of junk, Erdmann is looking on the bright side.

Kelly Erdmann: "As long as we get good weather and no rain it makes life a lot easier, I mean if you get rain all the cardboard boxes where the bottom falls out and they are loaded with books, sheet rock or whatever, so I mean that part does create a little bit of a mess."

Looking down the streets the piles are endless. It may be safe to say Erdmann and his crew have a few more days of hard work ahead.

Clean up week runs through Friday. Fargo's electronics Recycling Day has been moved to June 1st.
