FARGO – Police are searching for a man who held up a Fargo gas station at gunpoint Sunday night.

At about 8:30 p.m., a male entered Bjornson’s Oil at 734 N. University Drive and displayed a handgun to the clerk, demanding money out of the register, said Sgt. Chris Helmick of the Fargo Police Department.

“For whatever reason, the clerk wasn’t able to open the register, and at that point, the male took off on foot,” Helmick said.

Police attempted to do a canine track, but that search turned up unsuccessful.

No one was injured and nothing was taken from the store.

Helmick described the suspect as a 6-foot-tall black male wearing a green jacket.
