Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Senator Hoeven stops in Fargo vying to push his support for the Farm Bill all the way to the Senate floor.

His meeting with ag leaders comes after unusually cold weather has delayed spring planting. The new farm bill should save $23 billion and improve crop insurance.

Hoeven says the Senate Agriculture committee should begin its markup within two weeks.

Sen. John Hoeven, (R) North Dakota: “We're saving the taxpayer money. We're saving 23 billion that is more than the allocation that other areas are going to have under sequestration. So we're stepping up and we are doing our part.”

Representative Kevin Cramer also attended and says the House Farm Bill should be to the floor by June.
