Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - The Shanley girls soccer team has to be considered the leaders in the clubhouse in North Dakota. Kevin Roos’s team has not lost in 41 games.

Technically the 2011 state championship game, which Shanley lost in a shootout, goes down as a tie. The Deacons did graduate four of their standout players from last year; but believe they have the pedigree to make a repeat run.

Kevin Roos, Shanley Head Coach: “At this point, we're not thinking about that. We're going to go day by day, game by game, and try to be better the next day. Obviously, state is a goal, but we're going to look at the next game.”

Amy Freeberg, Shanley Sr. Defender: “I don't think we find much pressure. I think we just kind of take it and, we want to do the same thing this year. Having that championship, now we know what it feels like and we're hungry for that feeling again. We want to go back.”

Roos was just hired to take over at Concordia as the women's soccer coach for the Cobbers.
