Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - From a state level, Governor Dalrymple says diversion project funding and authorization is right on track.

Dalrymple also met with the Senators and other leaders this morning. He guaranteed the state will continue working to secure permanent flood protection.

Dalrymple says, as of today, lawmakers have already appropriated $175 million for the project and says most of that money has not yet been spent.

The state is committed to covering up to $450 million in the future.

Gov. Jack Dalrymple: “We're in an ideal spot, either way we're going to win. It's a great feeling that our state legislature really is committed.”

Dalrymple says some of the state funding can go to building ring dikes and levees, until the diversion project is approved and constructed.
