Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-- Remember measure number two? The North Dakota bill that would eliminate property tax, could be making a comeback.

Charlene Nelson, of Empower the Taxpayer, says the bill, which was shot down during the last two legislative sessions, has a good chance of making it through next time around.

If passed, local property tax would be replaced with state tax revenue.

Nelson blames government officials for scaring citizens out of voting yes on the ballot.

She says if it were to pass, it would benefit the entire state.

Charlene Nelson- Empower the Taxpayer: "It improves economic developments in our state. It keeps our elderly and our disabled citizens in their homes. It makes it easier for young families to buy their homes, it just benefits everyone."
