Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-- The two month grind that is the Stanley Cup playoffs drops the puck tonight and for the first time in five years; the Minnesota

Wild are part of the playoff party.

The Wild certainly don't enter the postseason on a tear; considering

they got blown out in their next to last game of the season 6-1.

That's on top of losses at San Jose and against Calgary; but all of that gets wiped away when the game begins in Chicago.

Mike Yeo- Wild Head Coach: "When I went back and looked at the end of our season we had a few games that were certainly not good.

The Calgary game that we lost. We probably should've won that game. The Edmonton game was obviously not a good one, the way it unfolded. The San Jose game was not a good one the way it unfolded. You take that away we won four out of our last seven games to get into the playoffs. We said we were in the playoffs that essentially is a playoff series."

It's not unheard of for an 8 seed to beat a one; last year; the Kings were an 8 seed and won the Stanley Cup; faceoff at 7.
