(WDAY TV) -- The shockwaves are being felt all over the country at different FCS schools after the announcement by the Big 10 that they have approved a scheduling model that their member schools will no longer play FCS teams beginning in 2016.

That directly affects NDSU since the Bison play at Iowa that season, we asked

Big 12 Commissioner Bob Bowlsby who was in town this weekend to speak at MSUM; what his conference's position was on the FCS games.

Bowlsby says, "I think the challenge to FCS schools a matter of the strength of schedule is worked into the playoff structure; depends entirely on how those games are valued; games against FBS opponents are likely to be valued more than FCS opponents; but we know schools like North Dakota State are highly competitive against FBS schools; not everyone in FCS is that way; NDSU certainly is it's a challenge to their business model, no doubt about that."

The Big 12 is directly in NDSU's future; the Bison play Kansas State this season and Iowa State next.
