Crews are cutting back from flood prep in Cass County

(WDAY TV) -- The lower crest prediction is putting a stop to some flood fighting efforts in rural Cass County.

(WDAY TV) -- The lower crest prediction is putting a stop to some flood fighting efforts in rural Cass County.

For the last couple of weeks, sandbagging and dike have kept a lot of people busy. County crews and state resources were racing against a rising river. So were homeowners.

Cass County Sheriff Laney says he's now cutting resources, to save money.

Sheriff Paul Laney with Cass County says, "whether it's through our county tax dollars or our state tax dollars we have a responsibility to our citizens to be very frugal and responsible with their tax dollars."
