Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- For the 2nd time in as many days, the National Weather Service lowers its flood crest prediction for Fargo-Moorhead.

The Red is now expected to crest at 35.5 feet Wednesday. That's a foot and a half lower than the 37-foot crest predicted on Sunday.

Earlier this month, the weather service had put the chance of the Red in Fargo exceeding 2009 levels of 40 feet at 40 percent. To give you some perspective: if the Red in Fargo reaches the predicted crest of 35.5 feet, it would place 9th on the list of historical crests.

If it only reaches 35 feet, it'll place tenth. Four of the top ten record crests were set over the past decade.
