Hope Church and Bethel Lutheran were both evacuated during the standoff, and that law enforcement may have been using Bethel Lutheran as a command post. A fire fighter on-scence told WDAZ that some neighbors were told to stay inside for safety - that if extreme actions needed to be taken, they were in the line of fire.

Nearby residents told WDAZ that the incident started around 9:30 this morning.

Around 1:30 this afternoon, bystanders heard a loud noise. A fire fighter on-scene confirmed to WDAZ that this was the noise of a flash-bang, a device typically used by law enforcement to stun a suspect before entry.
