Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- All it took was the return of football season to get some warm temperatures around here. The Bison held their annual green-gold spring game this afternoon.

Finding your favorite player might have been tough, 22 players were inactive for the game, that's what happens when you have back-to-back national championship runs.

Speaking of national championships. The players received their championship rings prior to the game.

With all the inactives, the Green and Gold game turned into Offense versus Defense with an new scoring system the Bison might want to keep.

Green, also known as the defense, wins the game on the scoreboard, but the Bison depth chart may be the biggest winner.

Head Coach, Craig Bohl, says, "What's so important about today is though maybe everything doesn't look great some of those younger players get a feeling what it's like to get out there with officials and a game like atmosphere, so that the first time they play in a game we are trying to break that feeling in."

Sr. Quarterback, Brock Jensen, says, "Those guys have a lot of talent and a bright future, it was good to get out here and see them makes some plays. That's going to be important moving on."
