Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) -- He's the second richest man in the world, and today he had some inspiring words for local college students. Bill Gates spoke at Concordia College in Moorhead for the dedication of the new Offutt School of Business.

Entrepreneur. Philanthropist. Billionaire.

However you think of him, Bill Gates is one of the world's most influential people.

Matt Gentza: "So many students here are just excited to be in the same room as Bill Gates."

Gates is in town to help dedicate the new Offutt School of Business.

Concordia President Dr. William Craft says Gates' experience in business and philanthropy matches perfectly with the school's ideal of business rooted in responsible citizenship.

Dr. William Craft: "Someone who continues learning throughout his life and helps people with his knowledge."

He is best-known for creating Microsoft, but these days his focus has shifted to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which focuses on poverty, health, and education.

Bill Gates: "Everything I learned at Microsoft prepared me, and provided the resources, for the work I'm doing today."

During the session, students had a chance to pick his brain on issues ranging from ethics to agriculture.

Moriah Nelson: "He was really down to earth, personable, it was a good conversation."

Gates happens to be a college dropout - he left Harvard to start Microsoft.

Nevertheless, he had some inspiring words for these students - the next generation of innovators.

Bill: "I think the future of innovation is very good for you guys just look at the problems of the world and especially the poor and find what is most fulfilling for you."
