Portion of 2nd Street in Fargo to close for levee construction

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Second Street in Fargo will be closing on Friday, April 26th to begin construction of a clay levee. The US Army Corps of Engineers will oversee the project and have contractors working on the north and south ends of the levee at the same time.

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Second Street in Fargo will be closing on Friday, April 26th to begin construction of a clay levee. The US Army Corps of Engineers will oversee the project and have contractors working on the north and south ends of the levee at the same time.

There will be several road closures associated with the levee construction:

- 2nd Street South will be closed betwen 4th Street South and Main Avenue starting at 2 PM Friday. Traffic will be detoured via 4th Street and Main Avenue.

- 2nd Street North will be closed between 6th Avenue North and 1st Avenue North starting at 2 PM on Friday. Traffic will be detoured via 4th Street North.

- The North Broadway Bridge over the Red River will late Friday afternoon/evening. The closure will depend on the rate at which the Red River is rising.
