Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - You could use every cliché in the book tonight to describe the hockey game at Scheels Arena: survive and advance, win or go home, do or die; and they'd all apply.

The Fargo Force have never failed to advance out of the 1st round of the Clark Cup playoffs but would need a win tonight against Waterloo in a winner-take-all Game 5.

The visitors scored less than a minute in but the Force rallied. Austin Ortega tips in the shot from Chris Dienes. We're tied at 1 after 1.

Same score into the 2nd; Fargo on the attack, Dave Gust with the shot. Gabe Guertler the perfect deflection, 2-1 Force.

But Waterloo scores the next two goals. They lead 3-2. Under four minutes to go in the 3rd, Alex Lafallo saves the Force season with this goal. We're tied at 3.

So we go to overtime in a deciding game and it's that line again. Gust the shot, Guertler puts in the game winner and the Force take the winner take all match 4-3 in overtime.

Gabe Guertler, Scored Game Winning Goal: “Someone just shot it to the net, just kind of a harmless shot and I was just there back door and got one rebound and then the second one and it kind of trickled over the pad. This has to be the number one goal in my hockey career to this point. I've had a few overtime goals but obviously no game five goals.”

Force will open at home against Sioux Falls on Friday.
